Meet Our Volunteers

Megan Nagy

AAI has a large number of dedicated volunteers. In this first part of our new series introducing our volunteers, we meet our Volunteer Co-ordinator Megan Nagy.
AAI depends on its volunteers to achieve its mission of responding to emergencies and, as the Volunteer Co-ordinator, Megan Nagy has a vital role in helping us achieve that aim. Megan’s responsibilities include communicating with our volunteers and maintaining the database of volunteer details so that when AAI responds to a disaster, we can call on people at a moment’s notice.
Megan first became involved with AAI in Mae Sot, on the Thai/Burma border, in 2008. Megan was undertaking an internship in education with a local NGO, while AAI was delivering training programs for Burmese medics.
When Megan is not working with AAI, she works at the Brotherhood of St Laurence as an Early Childhood Project Worker. This position focuses on research and co-ordination of local community hubs, where family services work together to ensure young children and their families receive support in education, heathcare and other services. One of Megan’s challenges is juggling this demanding role with her AAI commitments.
If you have volunteered, or intend to volunteer, with AAI, you will no doubt be hearing from Megan!
