Australian Aid International Delivers Another Successful Introduction to Humanitarian Operations Training Course
Australian Aid International (AAI) continues to recognise the importance of training in the area of humanitarian response. AAI prides itself as being a leading agency that delivers high quality and comprehensive training for all individuals interested in embarking in humanitarian work around the globe. The AAI training course was at capacity yet again and the energy within the training was motivating.
Training participants engaged in a variety of lessons including learning about complex emergencies, priorities in disasters, the humanitarian system and preparing for a mission overseas. All participants were very engaged throughout the course and Senior Coordinator noted, "it is refreshing to see such a dynamic group of professions that are keen to get involved, there is always a need for humanitarian aid workers and attending courses such as this one is the first step to getting involved."
International Disasters continue to claim headlines and as a result there remains a need to train individuals so humanitarian responses remain coordinated and professional. AAI Continues to Deliver Inspiring Training Courses to Interested Humanitarians
Australian Aid International (AAI) remains a leader in the industry for Humanitarian Operations training. AAI delivered another two-day Introduction to Humanitarian Operations training course on 20-21 November 2010 in Camberwell, Melbourne.
The comprehensive curriculum was delivered in a professional and inspiring format. Members of AAIs senior management as well as experts from various fields presented over the two day period. Participants left the course feeling prepared, inspired and educated about the realities of humanitarian operations. One participant commented at the completion of the course, “Thanks guys! Had a ball, what an informative 2 days!”

AAI regards these courses to be essential as AAI is striving to make humanitarian training a prerequisite as well as an industry standard for all individuals interested in getting involved overseas. “It is essential that people going to work abroad in humanitarian endeavours are trained and know what to expect and this course serves as the perfect pre-departure preparation,” commented AAI’s guest presenter, Boyd Hooper.

AAI Delivers Another Successful Introduction to Humanitarian Operations Training Course
Australian Aid International (AAI) welcomed participants from all over Australia to Melbourne on 18-19 September 2010 for the Introduction to Humanitarian Operations Training Course. The course was at capacity with over 20 participants from Melbourne , Adelaide , Perth , Sydney and Darwin in attendance.
AAI prides itself on the delivery of its professional and comprehensive training course. The AAI Humanitarian Operations training package leads the humanitarian sector in terms of content, usefulness and quality. AAI's security manager and senior lecturer commented, “AAI is striving to make this training an industry standard. We are preparing people for the complex issues they will be confronted with while overseas; it is imperative that all individuals embarking on operations are prepared so that they are safe and effective in the field.” AAI will continue to deliver this sought after training, with the next course being delivered in mid November.

The Humanitarian Operations course was extremely well received and participants walked away truly inspired. “ It was so motivating being in a room full of people that are of the same mindset as me and to hear of all your experiences from the field just made me want to grab my backpack and jump on a plane!!” commented one course participant.

The course was delivered by a mix of the AAI senior management team as well as a range of guest lecturers. AAI would like to thank all presenters for their hard work and support and AAI would also like to extend a big thank you to all of the wonderful participants.

AAI Delivers Successful Introduction to Humanitarian Operations Training Course
Australian Aid International (AAI) delivered its two day Introduction to Humanitarian Operations training course in Melbourne on 15-16 May 2010. Twenty participants from all over Australia and overseas attended the training course. Individuals travelled from Darwin , Perth , Sydney and Hong Kong for the course.
AAI's Introduction to Humanitarian Operations training course serves as a general overview for individuals interested in becoming involved in the humanitarian sphere. The course aims to educate, prepare and inspire individuals who wish to work overseas. Modules covered in the training include: the international humanitarian system, disasters and emergencies, international law, working in hostile environments, understanding cross-cultural and gender issues and disaster medicine. At the completion of the training, one participant wrote in their course evaluation, “Excellent, clear, inspiring – helped me reinforce my ‘keenness' to engage in humanitarian work.”

It is a rare and pleasant occurrence to have many of AAI's senior staff in the same city at the same time. AAI took advantage of this opportunity by conducting the training which was delivered by, Frank Tyler, Nathan Mullins, Marina Tyler and two guest lecturers.
Throughout the course participants engaged in interactive group activities, discussions, lectures and participatory exercises. “The positive spirit and receptiveness of the participants was fantastic to see” quoted senior lecture. At the end of the course one participant expressed, “I loved it all. I wish there was more time. I had no knowledge before so it was all very valid for me. It was a great start!”

AAI is aiming to conduct further Introduction to Humanitarian Operations training courses later in the year. AAI is also currently in the process of developing a schedule for its advanced humanitarian training courses.
