AAI Operations

Current Projects
AAI currently have a number of worldwide programs that require ongoing
support to keep these long-term operations viable. These include:
1. Timor-Leste Remote Area Health Program providing healthcare, health training and capacity building initiatives in remote areas in Timor- Leste.
2. Thai-Burma Boarder Program supporting Karen and Shan refugees fleeing violence and persecution from the Burmese ruling Junta. AAI have been conducting long-term war trauma surgical training for Karen medics returning into Burma to assist communities who cannot escape the violence. AAI are also providing an English teaching program to Karen refugee students living in camps on the boarder area.
3. Indonesian Emergency Preparedness – AAI maintain a regional presence with experienced local staff and emergency supplies in order to respond to disasters in the environmentally volatile area of the Indonesian Archipelago.
4. Afghanistan - Ongoing relationship development with International
Security Assistance Force reconstruction teams in an effort to facilitate
humanitarian assistance.
DONATIONS are the only way AAI can continue to work. AAI is a non-profit organisation, which specifically targets communities that are difficult to access because of their remoteness or ongoing conflict.
AAI urgently need funds from the public, industry, or the government.
Donations go directly to buying:
• medical equipment and supplies
• essential medicine
• keeping local medical clinics operating and functional
• safe water and sanitation systems
• rebuilding vital facilities including schools and clinics
• fuel and vehicle maintenance to keep AAI mobile
• local national staff such as doctors, nurses,
engineers, interpreters and drivers
